Dental Visit

I think I will show the dentist my lovely teeth!

They are going to put this thing - where?

He had to look fast, because that mouth was open for about 5 seconds before it clamped shut!

Fantastique!!!!

Nothing Too Exciting - Just Fun!

Hard to tell if the older or the younger girls were having more fun!

Presentation Night for the culmination of this session Homeschool CoOp.  Chick-a-dee decides to participate in the action!

I-Boy on guitar - 3rd from right.

Chick-a-Dee has learned to play hide and go seek - although it is mostly her finding me!

Next Step in Adoption

We are excited to announce that we have our biometrics appointment!  USCIS (immigration) sent us a notice of when (May 5th) and where (Portland, Oregon) to appear to have our fingerprinting done once again!  This is the last thing to do before our paperwork can be sent to China!  Even better - we can go to Portland to have it done instead of Yakima!  This is super - since it is about 3-4 hours closer to us!

Last Day of Homeschool Co Op & Boy's Party

We just finished our last day of Homeschool CoOp for the year, which is always mixed blessings.  It is nice to not have to rush around every Friday to make it to town on time, but sad because we don't get together with our friends on a regular basis until next fall!

Chick-a-Dee made some little thank you gifts for her teachers.

I-Boy will use any excuse to invite friends over.  Hey - last day of school?  We need a party!  Unfortunately quite a few of his friends weren't able to make it.  Those that did had a great time, I think!

Boys being boys!

More Fine Motor Skills Practice

Chick-a-Dee getting ready to have fun!

Of course this ended in more fun than ever - breaking all the spaghetti noodles!  The not so fun part was cleaning up after oneself - picking them all up off of the floor!  Oh well - we are learning!

It Feels Like Spring!

My newest skirt - "Tea for Two" - it is made from two tea towels from the dollar store!  We had some left over ribbon from the embellished sheets that I was making that just happened to match it perfectly!

Another bargain from the fabric store that is moving next week - I think I paid around $12 for the sheer fabric and she isn't using the silk brocade that matches!   We lost all of our beautiful saree's in the fire.

I Boy snapped the photo of a trilium - the first that we have seen this year!

So tired!

Another dollar store find - all these wall stickers!  They happened to match the girls' curtains that I just made perfectly!  You can't see in this picture, but there a many butterflies floating all over the walls now!

Practicing Fine Motor Skills

I was trying to get some sewing done today, and this is what occupied Chick-a-Dee for quite awhile.

Finally she resorted to doing what she best loves to do - just like her Mom, a little on the CDO side - ("OCD" the way it SHOULD be!)

.

New Bed

With each new child, whether they are biological or adopted, it somehow doesn't seem real to me until I have their bed set up.  So it is, again!  I wanted to find an exact match for the two beds, but being the thrifty shopper that I am (well, I try!), I found this bed for Zabi that kind of matches Chicka's!  Goodness, when you think about it, these wee beds will only last for a couple of years at most, until they need bigger ones.

Once it was set up in the girls room, guess who wanted to sleep in it!  So, we took the plunge and moved Chicka's bed up to the girls room, too.

Guess what happened last night??????  Wonder of wonders - the first night in over a year . . . . . . . Chick-a-Dee slept in HER bed ALL night long!  Woke up happy as a clam - well maybe not the kind of clams that I like to hunt for and eat, but nonetheless, happy!

Now the fun begins and I can start to decorate their room!

Video Below

A mom on a list that I belong to was asking for photos of sleeping children.  I sent her one of Chicka to use in the video that she was making.  Here is what she says about her creation.  "The song is just a simple lullaby I wrote years and years ago, before I even had children. I could imagine rocking them to sleep. Now when I get that chance, this song comes to mind."  It is precious, enjoy it!

Pomeroy House

MissE, IBoy, Chicka and myself went to the Pomeroy House today to make Ukrainian Easter Eggs.  pomeroyfarm.org.  It is now a living history farm, but I spent many summer days there with my friend, whose family owns it, as a teen.  While MissE and IBoy were busy making their eggs, Chicka and I wandered the grounds and visited with my friend.

Here is a professionally written pysanky egg.
